There are two ways to keep your HeyOrca account secure and make signing in smooth sailing!
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to sign up and sign in with Google, and how to set up two-factor authentication (2FA).
Note: 2FA and Google sign-in are available on all HeyOrca plans.
Understand your sign-in options
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Once it's turned on, you'll enter your password and a six-digit code from your authenticator app each time you log in. That way, a password alone isn't enough to get into your account.
Single sign-on (SSO) with Google lets you sign up or sign in to HeyOrca with the Google account you already use, instead of a separate HeyOrca password.
đ FYI: 2FA and Google sign-in are set up by each user on their own account. At this time, Workspace Owners and Admins can't require 2FA or SSO for their team, or see who has set it up.
Sign up for HeyOrca
You can create a new HeyOrca account with your Google account, or with an email and password.
On the sign-up page, choose Sign up with Google, or enter your email and a password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters.
If you signed up with an email and password, check your inbox for an authentication code and enter it to confirm your email address.
If you signed up with Google, you're all set! No email confirmation is needed.
Note: Signing up is only available on HeyOrca web. If you're on the mobile app, head to HeyOrca on desktop to create your account.
Sign in with Google
Already have a HeyOrca account? You can sign in with Google on web and mobile, as long as your Google account uses the same email address as your HeyOrca account.
On the sign-in page, select Sign in with Google.
Choose the Google account whose email matches your HeyOrca account.
đĄ Tip: If you have 2FA turned on and sign in with Google, you won't be asked for a 2FA code.
Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
Before you start, make sure you have an authenticator app installed on your browser or phone (for example, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
Navigate to your Profile settings and select the Security tab.
Scroll down to 2-Factor Authentication and click Set up.
Copy the setup key and save it somewhere safe, such as a printout or a USB drive.
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code, or enter the set-up key, to add HeyOrca.
Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app to finish set-up.
â ď¸ Keep your set-up key safe! If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need to contact our Customer Care team to regain access to your account.
Note: 2FA can only be set up on HeyOrca web, and an authenticator app is the only 2FA method available. Codes by SMS or email aren't supported.
Sign in with 2FA
Once 2FA is turned on, you'll be asked for a code each time you log in on web or mobile.
Log in with your email and password.
When prompted, enter the six-digit code shown for HeyOrca in your authenticator app.
đ FYI: You'll stay logged in on your device for 30 days, unless you log out. After that, you'll be asked for your password and a new code.
Turn off 2FA
Navigate to your Profile settings and select the Security tab.
Scroll down to 2-Factor Authentication and click on the button that confirms when your 2FA was first set up.
Enter your password and a code from your authenticator app to confirm.
