How to set your Brand Voice

To set your Brand Voice, navigate to your calendar settings and select the Brand Voice tab:

Here you can input your brand’s tone, key phrases, do's and don'ts, and any compliance guidelines. This helps the AI Content Grader understand your brand's unique style!

Recommended guidelines for setting your Brand Voice

Here's a list of the questions we recommend answering in your brand voice settings:

Your writing principles:

  • List ~3 principles that apply to everything you write. (Ex: “Focus on the benefits, not the features.”)

Brand positioning statements:

  • Provide a boilerplate description of your brand

  • List your brand’s mission and vision statements

  • Describe your brand’s ICP

“This but not that” statements:

  • Include ~5 statements that describe your brand’s personality

    • “We are [fill in the blank], but not [fill in the blank].” (Ex: “We are helpful, but not academic.”)

Style:

  • Do we use contractions?

  • Do we have a preferred way of spelling or capitalizing product or service names?

  • How do we handle emojis?

    • Where do you place them in the sentence?

    • Are any emojis off-limits?

  • How do we make sure we’re using inclusive, gender-neutral, and respectful language?

  • Do we follow a specific style guide (ex: AP Style, custom rules)?

    • How do we capitalize headings/titles?

  • Do we use sentence fragments?

  • Do we allow slang, jargon, or industry-specific terms?

  • Do we use Oxford commas?

  • Do we use American or British English spelling

  • How do we format dates and times?

  • Are any words or terms off limits?


How to use AI Content Grade

In the post editor, draft your caption as usual. Once finished, a Brand Score will appear below the text:

Click on the score to open the Content Grader in the side panel, where you can:

  • See how closely your caption aligns with your brand voice.

  • View suggestions and an improved version of your caption based on AI feedback.

You can apply the suggested caption, or adjust it further to fit your needs before publishing! After applying your changes, check how your score has improved!

To help streamline your workflow, your brand voice settings will also power suggestions for your Social Inbox replies, ensuring your tone remains consistent across comments, messages, and other interactions.

To apply it, simply toggle "Apply Brand Voice" on while replying to comments and messages:
