Placeholder Accounts and How to Use Them

Placeholder accounts allow you to create posts on your calendar for social accounts that HeyOrca doesn’t currently publish directly, to view your entire social strategy at a glance.

In the Settings for each calendar, you can add Placeholder Accounts:

Fill them with text, upload your media, and collaborate with team members on suggested edits!

Your clients can approve or reject them just like they can with for any other account, before your team publishes that content outside of HeyOrca.

We also have preset demo channels, such as YouTube, that you can use to plan your content in HeyOrca and still get the approvals you need without publishing!

Pro-tip: If you want to add a social account that HeyOrca doesn’t yet support, create a Placeholder account to help with the scheduling and approval process for that channel!

Color Code Your Social Media Accounts

Suppose your client has multiple Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn pages/accounts associated with their brand. In that case, color-coding accounts allow you to tell the different social accounts apart at a glance easily.

Step 1: To change the color of an account, navigate to the calendar settings page for that calendar.

Step 2: Click the ellipses menu and select Custom Channel Color

On your calendar, you’ll be able to see the difference between the two accounts!

Now you can easily tell multiples of the same account apart!
