Instagram product tagging helps your audience discover and shop products directly from your content. In HeyOrca, you can add product tags to Reels, single-image posts, and carousel posts before publishing.
Connect your Instagram Shop to HeyOrca
Before you start, ensure you have a Shop set up in Meta Business Suite to connect to HeyOrca. Keep in mind:
You will need to create a Commerce Manager account if you haven't yet.
If you don’t have a Facebook business Page or catalog yet: You can create both when you set up your shop.
If you already have a Page and catalog you want to use for your shop: You must have full control of the business portfolio if you use one to manage your Page and catalog. Make sure you also have full control of both the Page and catalog. Learn more about managing access to a business asset.
If you want to make your shop visible on Instagram: You’ll need an Instagram business account in your business portfolio. If you only want to sell on Instagram, you don't need to create or provide a Facebook business Page when creating your shop.
🛍️ If you're using Shopify as your ecommerce platform, verify that the products are approved and synced to Facebook & Instagram as a Sales channel.
If you're using another ecommerce platform, ensure that you're able to integrate with Meta and follow the steps to connect your online store to Meta.
Tag products in your posts
👀 FYI: Instagram product tagging is currently available for single-image posts, carousels and Instagram Reels
1. Once you've created the post you want to add products to, select the shopping bag icon located next to the user tagging icon on your post's preview image/thumbnail.
2. From the Tag Accounts modal, click the Product Tagging tab. Select a product to start tagging in your post. You can choose your products by navigating through your collections, or by selecting View All Products. Additionally, you can find specific products you're looking for easily by using the search bar.
👀 FYI: You can tag up to 5 products per image on your post
3. Click Save. When the post is published, your selected products will be live on your post for your audience to view.
Change the location of your tag
1. From the Product Tagging tab, click anywhere on the image after selecting the product.
2. Select Add Product Tag to save your selection.
Remove a Product tag
To untag an added product, press the Untag button beside the product you want to remove the tag from.
