Publish single image posts directly to your Instagram account through HeyOrca by connecting a Buffer account. Here’s how! 🥳
A video of this process can be found here.
Step 1:
Make sure you have switched your Instagram profile to a business account.
To switch to a business account:
Open the Instagram app
Tap profile photo in bottom right corner
Tap the 3 lines in the top right corner
Tap Settings at the bottom of the menu
Tap Account
Tap Switch To Business Account
Step 2:
Make sure you have connected a Facebook page to your Instagram Business account
To connect a Facebook Page to your Instagram account:
Open the Instagram app
Tap profile photo in bottom right corner
Tap Edit Profile
Tap Connect or Create
Note: You must be an Admin on the Facebook page in order to connect it to your Instagram account.
Step 3:
Sign up for Buffer and connect your Instagram account to Buffer and set up Direct Scheduling for Instagram.
To create a Buffer account, you will need to start a 14 day free trial. Once your trial period ends, your account will automatically become a free account! With a free Buffer account, you can connect up to 3 Instagram profiles including both business and/or personal pages.
Step 4:
Connect your Buffer account to HeyOrca! 🙌
Go to your calendar settings
Go to the social accounts tab
Click “Add Instagram via Buffer”
Make sure you are logged in to the right Buffer account, click continue and allow access.
Click on the page you want to connect to HeyOrca
That’s it! Now you can directly schedule and publish single image posts to Instagram through HeyOrca. Check out the content requirements for Instagram feed posts here.
If you're having trouble with connecting your Social Media to Buffer, check out Buffer's help section for trouble shooting practices: https://support.buffer.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038655634-Troubleshooting-Instagram-connections#h_f7610c9d-0b16-49c1-b245-19c481b7bfa0
As HeyOrca works towards becoming an Instagram partner, it is important to note that current partners of Instagram are only able to directly publish single image posts and videos. Instagram partner platforms must also use mobile apps or notifications to publish multi-photo and story posts.
***Note: Instagram posts can have up to 30 hashtags at a time.
