Track the performance of your Instagram stories with HeyOrca Reports!

Here are some things to note before getting started:

1. Make sure that your Instagram account is designated as a Business account.

2. HeyOrca will store data for connected Instagram Business Accounts. The Instagram Business account needs to be connected to a Facebook page in order to collect insights.

3. You will not need to reauthorize your account to enable this feature, but we will not be able to gather past data before the connection date of your Instagram business account.

Here’s how to view your Instagram Story Engagement Report:

Step 1: Head to the Reports Section in HeyOrca, Noted by the graph icon on your grey navigation bar.

Instagram Story Engagements Reported in HeyOrca

The following engagement metrics for Instagram Stories will be generated for you in HeyOrca:

Taps Forward - When someone taps through your story before it is over

Taps Back - When someone goes back to one of your previous stories

Exits - Someone exits out of your story completely

Reach - How many accounts actually viewed your story

Impressions - The number of times your story content was shown to users by Instagram

You will also be able to access your Top Performing stories, which will show your best performing content based on the metric of your choosing (Impressions, Replies, Taps Forward, Taps Back, Exits, Reach).

You can click the drop down menu to the right of the Top Stories Reports Headline to change the metric you want to see as well as sort your Stories from Best to Worst, or Worst to Best

Re-shared Stories

HeyOrca will collect data for stories re-shared from other accounts, but will not be able to generate the media shared. If you re-share a post/story from your own account, we are able to collect the media for the Top Stories section.

Low Performing Stories

If all a story’s metrics are less than 5, Instagram does not share the specific data for those metrics. In the stories performance graph, we will count anything less than 5 as 0.
